Venture Meeting Notes 4/30

Ventures,

Here is what happened at tonight’s meeting:

  • Mr. Bardwell handed out Venture Rank Advancement information
  • Mrs. Kirschner talked about another Venture Crew in Reynoldsburg who does shooting activities
  • activity for Venture scouts who are 21 and older in 2014 called Thunder ______ (didn’t know the name at the time)
  • Youth Staff and Wood Badge

Vertical Adventure:

  • The trip is on My 12th
  • costs $19 per person (price could change depending on the number of people who attend)
  • there is an online waiver that everyone needs to fill out on the website (website is on the permission slip and venture website)
  • Permission slips and deposits are due MAY 7TH!!!

Shy-zone

  • I will start the process of reserving a time for Skyzone
  • I will also make a permission slip

THERE IS NO MEETING NEXT WEEK (DUE TO SEA BASE MEETING)

Here is what happened during the Venture Meeting:

Dave and Busters-

PERMISSION SLIPS ARE DUE!!!!!
Permission slips are attached to this email and on the venture website ( http://venturecrew166.org/ )
The $10 deal for unlimited play for an hour are only for non-ticket games; ticket games require point cards and don’t count in the deal

Vertical Adventure:

Permission slips are attached to this email and there is also an electronic waiver that needs to be filled out along with the Venture p-slip.
I will be calling Vertical Adventures this week to schedule our time and reserve our spot; so sign up today!!!!

Louisville Underground Zip Lining:

Potential date is Friday, July 13th (subject to change)

Ventures,

Here is what the Venture Crew talked about at the meeting:

Vertical Adventures:

  • For the adults that are paying for the trip, they are also participating; not just watching
  • If anyone (adults included) is interested in attending, please send me an email

Sky-zone:

  • The date set for right now is June 21st
  • Nick E. is checking times for available dates

Potential trips:

  • Zip-lining, golfing/driving range/etc., Whitewater rafting, biking trip, horse-back riding, fishing, black-smiting, mid-night bowling, sailing, para-sailing, jet-skiing

There is a meeting next Monday (4/16) and the permission slips and money for Dave and Busters is due!!!

Permission slips for both the Dave and Busters and Vertical Adventures outing are attached to this post.

Venture Meeting 4/2

Ventures,

Flight Simulator Outing:

  • The outing is TOMORROW (4/3) and everyone needs to be at the church at 3:45 pm
  • All of the information you need is on the permission slip, if you don’t have one, there is a p-slip attached to this email

Dave and Busters:

  • I have created a permission slip, which is attached to this email, and all the information is attached to it
  • The trip is on April 27th, from 4:30-7:30pm, and all you need to go is a $5 deposit (it will only cost $5 more dollars to go) and a filled out and completed permission slip

Vertical Adventures:

  • The trip is going to be on May 19th (up to change) from 11:30 to 3:30 (it will take around 25 minutes to get there)
  • The permission slips, which haven’t been made yet, and deposit will be due May 7th
  • Attendees with need to eat before hand
  • I will call to see if we can reserve that time for our group

Sky-zone:

  • This will be our next outing after Vertical Adventures
  • Our tentative date is June 21st
  • Nick E. will be looking up details on that

Dave and Busters trip date is set to April 27th from 4:30-7:30. Permission slips will be made asap.

Our next trip, which will be in May, will be Vertical Adventures. The preliminary date is May 12th. More information will also be gathered asap.

Other potential outings in the future are golfing/driving range, and glow putt.

Venture Meeting 3/12

Here is what we talked about during the Venture Meeting on Monday:

  • Flight Simulator- permission slips were sent out (they will also be attached to this one as well), we need to know who is or isn’t coming to the Flight Simulator by 3/26, all you need to turn in is $5 and a permission slip, and if you are interested in attending the outing, please email Mr. Bardwell or myself to allow us to have a headcount of who is going.
  • Potential outings- COSI, Driving Range/Golfing, Dave and Busters, Glow Butt, Shooting (info. is limited), Zip-Lining, Fencing (more for winter), and a Segway Tour.
  • There was interest in Dave and Busters, Driving Range/Golfing, and Glow Putt
  • Date for Dave and Busters (subject to change) is April 27th from around 5:15-7:15pm
  • NO MEETING NEXT WEEK DUE TO BEXLEY SPRING BREAK!!!!
  • All of this information will be posted on the Venture Website, which is http://venturecrew166.org/

Venture Update

Ventures,

Flight Simulator- Tuesday, April 3rd, meeting at the church at 3:45pm and start the tour at 4:00pm. If you are interested in attending, please email Mr. Bardwell or I to let us know if you are interested. Permission slip will be attached with this.

Maple Syrup Fest- The date for the event is March 3rd and it is going to be at Camp Lazarus. More information is on the permission slip, which will be attached to this.

Venture Meeting 1/30

Ventures,

Here is a summary of what happened in tonight’s meeting:

Skyzone- different options for the amount of time there, there are multiple options (more information at http://columbus.skyzonesports.com/ABOUTUS/Pricinghours.aspx) and there was a lot of interest at the meeting.

Fencing- there is nothing currently offered, but there was a lot of interest at the meeting

Flight Simulator- Mr. Bardwell has contacted the host, they are interested in having us come again, and also we had a lot of interest at the meeting.

Glow Putt- weekend specials are available on Tuesday-Friday, every week and there was interest for it. (for more info., go to http://www.glowputtohio.com/home.html)

Dave and Busters- “eat and play combos” ($15.99 for a lunch/dinner and a $10 game card for games), “power hours” Monday-Friday 4:30-7 (60min of video game play for $10), and had interest.

Driving Range- Four Seasons Golf Center has an indoor/outdoor driving range and a mini-golf course, different sized buckets varying in price, and had some interest (more info. at http://fourseasonsgolfcenter.com/fsgc/default.htm)

Maple Syrup Fest- Dates are either 3/3 or 3/10, from 9am-4pm at Camp Lazarus, the cost is around $5-6, and had interest

Vertical Adventures- $29 for an one hour lesson and 2-3 hour free climb, just free climb is $10 ($12 for adults), and had a lot of interest.

SKIING- FEB. 11th, 50% off on rentals and skiing/snowboarding, and had some interest.

This event is highlighted because it is coming up and we need to know if we have enough people coming. I will be sending out a separate email asking for people to reply if they are interested or not and having a permission slip attached.

There will also be a venture meeting next Monday in the Parlor at 7:00pm.
